Hi & hello – welcome to another week – one more installation into CC&K. I am brewing Tribute from Starbucks and 💨 enjoying Lava Cake. Due to illness, my mind has been a bit slow recently. For months I had to ignore what was happening in the world, even had to stop these posts for a bit; I am happy to be back, is what I am attempting to say. This morning I did not expect what was eventually said in the sermon, something I would like to hear your opinions about – so do be vociferous in the comments, please! We are in Galatians 4 today ••• here we go!
In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. But when the fullness of time had come. G-d sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, G-d has sent the Spirit of his Son in to our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through G-d.
Galatians 4:3-7, ESV

Guess who’s baaaack???? Surgery went well; it took an extra day to get out of the hospital, but I’m now feeling better than ever! I know it has been a while, but I hope you’ll enjoy a new CC&K. Today, the Next Generation Pastor, Matt Henderson, leads us through Colossians 2: 6-15; so, grab a cuppa & join me. I am toking💨 Blue Sherbet and am brewing a dark roast from Starbucks that I commandeered from my mother.
I hope you’re having a lovely day! We are going to begin in Colossians chapter two verse six:
6 hTherefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 irootedand jbuilt up in him and kestablished in the faith, just las you were taught, abounding min thanksgiving.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive by nphilosophy and oempty deceit, according to phuman tradition, according to the qelemental spirits1 of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For rin him the whole fullness of deity dwellssbodily, 10 and tyou have been filled in him, who is uthe head of all rule andauthority. 11 In him also vyou were circumcised with a circumcision madewithout hands, by wputting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision ofChrist, 12 xhaving been buried with him in baptism, in which yyou were alsoraised with him through faith in zthe powerful working of God, zwho raised himfrom the dead. 13 aAnd you, who were dead in your trespasses and theuncircumcision of your flesh, God bmade alive together with him, havingforgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by ccanceling dthe record of debt that stoodagainst us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 wHedisarmed the rulers and authorities2 and eput them to open shame, byftriumphing over them in him.3
Colossians 2: 6-15 (ESV)
Pastor Matt began by discussing a time he had a kidney stone… a little too close for comfort, if you ask me. 😅 Because of the fact I’m recovering from surgery, this will be a short post, or shorter than usual. We are attempting to depend on so many things to get through life, attempting to fill a void [for G-d] with ______ (insert your favourite idol). Jesus is the only true void-filler & he redefines how you should view your faith. Where can we be rooted • built up • strengthened in the faith? Why, church, of course; being part of, established in, & being THE church.
We do not redefine who G-d is – He redefines who we are.
Church should be the reason we miss events. The church is the bride of Christ, yet it is the first thing we neglect as Christians.
There is life in Christ! The gospel snuggled sweetly in Colossians in verses 10-12 Paul sees the church becoming more like the world instead of the opposite. {Gal. 2:20-22}
Our evil desires, our bondage to sin, and our love of sin, die[d] on the cross with Jesus.
Jesus redefines our faith, because our faith should be all about Jesus.
You cannot outrun what the Lord has in store for you. I hope you all have a lovely week ahead. Talk Soon, love! Cecelia ✌🏻🌊☕️
Alright, friends… I am excited to invite you to a new series leading up to Easter called The ‘Lost’ Parables of Jesus. No, Bryan did not discover a new scroll – a joke he makes immediately. In his title page, on the screen, it did not have quotations around “lost” like mine. So it reads, The Lost Parables of Jesus. 🤦🏻♀️ Beyond that, this is an awesome sermon. Please, take a moment to watch. I look forward to discussing this series with a n y o n e out there!
God’s heart for reaching the lost is undeniable.
Going after the One is the mission of God.
Real danger awaits the One that is lost.
God is relentless in His pursuit of the One.
God meets the One with love & grace.
All of heaven rejoices over the One who is found.
Are you pursuing the One?
Are you broken over lostness?
Are you meeting the lost with grace?
Do you grumble when you should marvel?
“I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the week, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.”
