The Morning Dawdler #18

The Dawdler – Thank you, Rory, for asking the questions… You can either answer them in my comment section, or make a new post all your own.

Which behavioural trait describes you more – introvert, ambivert or extrovert? Oh, I’m an ambivert for sure; I can pass as an extrovert, but I really need my me-time. Especially since I became disabled.

How often do you clear out free space on your phone, and how often does your storage space fill up? I don’t really have to do this bc I have like 2TB of storage I think? My storage space doesn’t fill up.

Also, how many apps do you have that you use daily? Twenty +/- Certainly no where near the number I have; though many on my phone are not installed, but only in the cloud.

Are you easily annoyed, and your temper continually snaps? If so, what irks you the most, or are you the calm one who only blows occasionally? I am a volcano. I am dormant for very long periods of time. If I begin to get angry I send up little tremors here & there, perhaps a gas pocket erupts… then if nothing is done, I explode.

Let me know your views and thoughts in the comment section below
Thanks

The Morning Dawdler #15 16.February.23

Thank you, Rory, for hosting.

“If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be and why?” —A Weeping Willow. Not sure exactly why, other than when I see one my heart smiles. I too am bent; with pain and anguish it seems, as well as spine issues.

Name 5 uses for a stapler other than stapling. —paper weight; microphone for pop up karaoke in the office; blunt object; gun; I’m at a loss for the fifth.

Do you believe in tipping for good service received and do you think that tipping makes for a better service? —I’m an American, raised by a waitress, so yes. Many servers here make very little in an hourly wage & make most of their money from tips. I also believe in giving a poor tip for poor service, sometimes with a note. If you’re going to work in any customer service industry you must be able to deal with people and you should be able to do it well.

Do you have a blog to write or do you have a blog to socialise only and which one could you survive without if one was taken away? —I do not understand this question. I will come back later… [okay, it is later]. I have a pain blog… which also serves as an autobiography, so I am unsure which category I claim. Either way, I don’t want anything taken away. That just sounded very spoiled, apologies.

The Morning Dawdler

The Morning Dawdler – hiya, Rory, hope you’re well.

Questions for you to answer in your own time over your favourite cuppa.

Four questions three times a week – inspired by life, humour, conversations and observations, town life, blog posts, writers, gardening, news stories, television, entertainment and human curiousity and so on.

Please feel free to answer all or only a few. Answer in the comment section below or create your own post or even just group the week’s questions together and then answer in one hit – that choice is entirely down to you.

What are your views on Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex’s published memoir ‘Spare’ and the media coverage supporting it – even if you haven’t read the book? –I look forward to reading the answers on this one. I have seen Prince Harry on Stephen Colbert; he was charming, seemingly quite transparent, and funny. I think there is an overall fascination with the Royal Family most especially because we all knew it must be crazy on the inside… I mean, every family is. I grew up in an ‘upper middle class’ (when there was a middle class) family where we were supposed to be perfect on the outside- always. I’m not saying I understand the forces of the paparazzi, but I do understand family pressure to keep everything looking good, no matter the consequences. So, yeah, I don’t know. 🤷‍♀️

Is the glass half full or half empty for you? Pretty much even I’d say.

In your opinion – as individuals do we matter and if so/not why? Yes we matter as we are all ourselves individually additive to the world around us. We as individuals create the world around us and as we become better individually we can become better as a whole.

What mistakes do you make over and over? Ohmygoodness- money. I am shite at money.

Have you ever learned to fight or taken self-defence lessons – why did you feel this was necessary or was this something that you wanted to know to feel safer? I have taken a few self-defense (sorry for the auto-correct on defense) …anyhow, not really. I have pepper spray on my key chain and a stun gun & a knife in my purse. However, I really only have all that when we go to Chicago, not in our sleepy town.

Do you spell grey as gray and also is it colour or color? Grey or gray, depending on what flows, I find them interchangeable except when speaking of Meredith or Christian Grey. As for colour, I was forced to spell it ‘color’ in order to get a good grade on papers. In my personal life & on my blog it will be colour, unless the spell check “fixes” it for me.

Are you now or have you ever been afraid of the dark? I don’t think so…certainly not now, but I don’t know as a young child. I have suffered migraine since I was 11 years old, darkness is my friend.

Where do you prefer to do most of your clothing shopping – online or in-store? When I was a smaller size it didn’t matter, I would order online & pick up things in the store without trying on. However, since gaining a little weight, I need to try on clothes because nothing fits right.

Is it easier or harder for you to make friends online rather than offline and why do you think this is? I don’t think I find it harder or easier; I am generally a very social person when in any company. Building friendships & relationships is much easier for me online because my disability causes me to cancel at times, or not be fully “present” due to pain… online is a bit easier since usually it is less difficult to disappoint.

Do you have a stable of generic answers for comments to your blog, or do you write genuine responses every time to each person?
I am still at the genuine stage, since I don’t have many comments. My blog is tiny & isn’t completely formed yet.

If tomatoes are botanically considered a fruit because of the seeds within, does the same apply to cucumbers?
This is a common argument in my house. My daughter says no, because she considers veggies ‘savory’ and fruit ‘sweet’, even though I could argue that is all in her head. I am not sure why it matters at all, just eat them, cucumbers are amazing.

What five letter word becomes shorter when you add two letters to it?
S h o r t. Funny 🤨
